Our own Paul Anagnostopoulos is pleased to have won 2nd place in the Street Machine class at GSL-XXI in April 2009. The model is a detailed and mildly customized build of the Tamiya Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, called the OMx. (Thanks to Peter Wisniewski for the cool photos.)

Here are some photos of Luke's Searchlight and Rescue vehicle. It is a civilianized German Sd. Kfz. 251/20 Asuf. D halftrack that was converted into a search and rescue vehicle. The halftrack was restored to near-authentic condition, but a few changes were made. The infrared searchlight was updated and converted to visible light. The Maybach 6-cylinder engine was bored and stroked and given an engine management system. The restrictive air intake was replaced with a big Ferrari air box and the exhaust system was enlarged. Luke managed to increase the original 100 horsepower to 145. The tiny vision slots were opened up to a large windshield and side windows. The archaic communication equipment was discarded in favor of a modern GPS-based system. The halftrack was painted in a two-tone scheme to make it appear less imposing.
Paul is pleased to have won best in class at GSL-XXIII and Classic Plastic 2011. (Thanks to Gregg Hutchings for the photos.)
Here is a box stock build of the reissued MPC Tiki Trike.
